WSNA in Olympia: 2021 Legislative Session Week 1

The 2021 Regular Session of the Washington State Legislature convened on Jan. 11. Lawmakers were in Olympia on Monday to pass rules that will allow them to conduct their business remotely for the remainder of session.

2020 Legislative Session: week 8

This week bills that weren’t considered “necessary to implement the budget” (NTIB) were required to pass out of their fiscal committees by Monday night. Legislators worked the weekend and late on Monday to hear as many bills as possible before the cutoff.

Legislative session week 11

The week started off with a flurry of activity as the House of Representatives released its biennial budget on Monday.


Legislative session week 10

Our bills continue to move through the legislative process – and this week one of those bills was highlighted on TVW’s Legislative Review.




Legislative session week 6

Today is the first cutoff of the legislative session – meaning all policy bills must be voted out of the policy committee in their house of origin to keep moving through the process.

For the first time anyone can remember, all committee hearings were canceled on Monday due to snow.
